My mother used to make the following concoction to sooth colds: black tea with honey, cinnamon and ginger.

Here Is my healthier version of it.
It is great for soothing colds
Clearing sinuses
Boosting the immune system
And detoxing.

1 tablespoon organic apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Chopped fresh ginger
Put everything in a cup, fill with hot water, stir well and sip slowly.
