Today I want to share a personal experience with you. I have a very vivid memory of being a 4 year old girl, standing in front of a mirror, playing dress up with my mom’s clothes and twirling while looking at myself in the mirror. The memory is so strong and vivid, I can still feel it, see it, smell it, touch it. I remember the feeling I had, of pure pleasure and delight in being who I am. I loved how I looked, my nose, my hair, my skin, my legs, my body, I just loved everything about being who I am and how I looked.

One of the reasons this memory is so strong and vivid is because I haven’t felt that way since. I am saying that with a smile because I think we all experience some of that in some way.

We are not born being dissatisfied with our body. We are all born being completely fascinated and delighted with our physical selves. I haven’t felt like my 4 year old self but a lot of the work I do, with myself and with other women, have brought me closer and closer to that feeling and I hope that one day soon I will be fully there. I have shed so much body shame and body hatred through my own personal journey and I help other women do the same.

In today’s practice I invite you to look at yourself in a full length mirror, you can do it clothed but even better, do it in the nude. Look at yourself from top to bottom. Just observe and be willing to look at this practice to learn something about yourself. Be an explorer and explore your feelings about your body.

Notice, how do you feel? What are the places that need healing? Any places that does not reflect pure joy and delight and pleasure in your physical self, are places that need healing.  Just notice without judgement.
Do you feel dissatisfied?
Do you hate any part of your body?
Is there any part of your body you feel you need to hide or conceal?
There is nothing about you that needs to be concealed.
Every part of you is wonderful.
Tell your body that you love her.
Tell your body you are taking steps to learn how to love it completely.
That message of love will be felt and received by your body, it will react by giving you more health and vitality.

I would love to hear from you! What is one thing you liked about this video? Please share in the comments.
