There is a wonderful trend happening now.

A lot of people are into green juices.

And I see more and more people post picture of their green juice on social media.

But what is often called a juice, is actually NOT.

If you made your juice in a blender like the Vitamix or the Nutribullet,

Then it is NOT A JUICE but a smoothie.

Here is the difference:

JUICE

Is made in a juicer that has two compartments.

It separates the vegetable/fruit into a pulp that goes into one compartment,

And into juice that comes out into your drinking cup.

You drink the juice.

And you discard the pulp, which contains most of the produce fiber.

*The pulp can be used to make delicious broths.

SMOOTHIE

Is made in a blender that has one container.

It blends (or liquefies) the whole vegetable/fruit with whatever else you are adding to it,

Liquids

Powders

Nuts

Seeds

Super foods

It is thicker and includes all of the produce fiber.

SMOOTHIES:

~You use the whole produce = whole food!

~They include fiber which makes you feel fuller.

~They are digested slower then juices, giving you a prolonged feeling of fullness.

~You can add other health enhancing ingredients and super foods like:

Almonds

Flax seeds

Chia seeds

Spirulina

Chlorella

JUICES:

~ You use just the juice and discard the pulp.

~ You don’t feel as full because you do not get the fiber.

~ Many super foods are blend-able but not juice-able and cannot be added to juices.

~ You get more micronutrients with juices, the are nutrient “bombs” because you use more vegetables and fruit to make one cup of juice vs one cup of smoothie, again, because fiber adds more bulk.

Smoothies and juices are a great way to get your greens!!!

Green leafy vegetables are one of the most important foods.

And most of us don’t get enough of them.

They are super high in nutrients, vitamins, mineral, chlorophyll and antioxidants.

They help us stay strong and healthy.

Help our immune system to fight diseases.

They make our skin glow.

I recommend to have them everyday!!!

THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT IS IMPORTANT

I highly recommend to use a powerful blender that can break the walls of the plant’s cells and make all the nutrients available for your body to absorb easily.

My top recommendation is the VITAMIX, it will serve you for a many years of healthy living.

Click here for a more affordable refurbished Vitamix.

Click here for the NutriBullet, if you absolutely cannot afford the Vitamin, it is a good second choice and much more affordable.

Click here for the Breville Juicer, an excellent choice that juices all fruits and vegetables including leafy greens.

There are cases that a JUICE will be a better choice than a smoothie.

~People who are underweight and nutritionally deficient can better benefit from the easily absorbed nutrients in juices.

~Some people have health conditions (like Crohn’s disease) that prevents them from eating high fiber foods. Juices can provide a lot of the nutrients they need.

For most of us I recommend to have green smoothies often, and it is also great to enjoy juices whenever you want a quick chock-full-of nutrients drink!!!
