It’s pumpkin season!!!
Everywhere you look there are pumpkins decorations, treats and drinks. I love the rich and sweet taste of pumpkin lattes but I don’t like that they are overloaded with sugar, dairy and I have not had caffeine in years.
So, for myself as well as for my clients, I developed this awesome home-made pumpkin latte that has all the flavor of regular pumpkin latte! The base of it is TEECCINO, an herbal coffee substitute that I absolutely love. You can by it in many flavors, I like this mixed flavor 3 pack. It’s available in some health food stores or you can find it on Amazon. I make it with a french press and I also grind it slightly thinner and use it in my Nespresso machine with a reusable cup, it makes a mean, coffee-free, herbal espresso. You can also use it in reusable K-Cups. If you drink coffee you can make the recipe with regular espresso or brewed coffee.
1 cup almond milk
1 tablespoon pureed pumpkin (fresh or canned)
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
A dash of nutmeg
A dash of cloves
1 shot of teecchino espresso of half cup french pressed
1 teaspoon honey or a few drops of stevia extract (use more or less to taste)
Simmer all ingredients in a pot until hot, you can then transfer them to a blender and blend to make your latte more frothy.
