Something happened to us in the past 50-100 years and when I say us, I mean the human species. We went from a life of growing our own food, washing our own dishes, sewing our own clothes, to a life of instant gratification. It is partly the role that technology plays in our lives and partly a life-style that is removed from the rhythms of nature and the seasons. Lately is seems that everything is a click away, from dishwashers to home delivered groceries.
That is why, when we start incorporating healthier habits, healing rituals and better food choices, we often get impatient and frustrated because we do not see instant results.
Natural solutions, like healthier foods and nurturing practices are not going to work like a magic pill. Yes, they are miraculous, but their healing process has a gentle and accumulative affect. You will feel a shift in 3-7 days, you will feel better after a few weeks, you will see transformations after a few months or even a few years, depending on your health issues and what results you are trying to reach. That is why my Women Health Circle is designed as a 6 month program, it takes that long to create a new you.
One of our mistakes is that we see holistic practices as a a temporary necessity to achieve a health goal. They are not and when we view them that way, we tend to achieve partial and temporary success in creating a healthier life.
I invite you to look at healthy choices and healing practices as the goal, not just as the means to get to a goal. Embrace them with love and invite them permanently into your life.
Make a list of your health goals.
In addition to health issues you want to resolve like:
- Have more energy
- Reverse diabetes
- Reduce pain
- Relieve constipation
- Sleep better
Add goals that have to do with healthier habits and practices like:
- Practice daily yoga
- Eat more greens
- Drink enough water
- Be kind to myself
- Enjoy cooking healthy meals
